Who is going?
Our mission team will consist of a group of 17 adults and students from the church. It will be busy in Costa Rica because we are traveling during the Spring Break season. However, one of the most exciting things about this team is the variety of people and gifts that are going. We have youth, parents, and grandparents all with us on this trip, representing many ages and seasons of life in our church!

Where are we going?
We’re going to Atenas, Costa Rica. Costa Rica is a rapidly developing country in Central America, and Atenas is a town just a short drive from the capital city, San Jose. The team will be staying at Hogar De Vida, a children’s home that is privately run by Christians but sanctioned by the government. The home houses 30-40 foster children and provides the opportunity of teaching these children about the love of God in Christ.

What are we doing?
We’ve partnered with a missions organization in Allen called Matrix Ministries. While at Hogar De Vida, our team will be helping in practical ways around the children’s home (work projects, painting, repairing, cooking, and cleaning), as well as helping to teach Bible lessons to the children, care for them, and support the caregivers who live full-time with them. We’ll also get to visit with a local church and some long-term missionaries.

Want to help?

Prior to our trip, we are collecting donations of medicine, clothes, or items for us to bring with us to the home. These are items that the home needs and has told us they could use.

Click here for a list of items we are collecting to donate.

The entire cost of the trip is $1,935 / person, and all support we receive goes towards the cost of the trip, food and board, and additional supplies and support for the children’s home.

Click here if you would like to make a financial donation towards this trip.

We’d love for you to keep us in prayer before, during, and immediately after our trip. Pray for cooperation, flexibility, faith, and for our team to love God and love the people we get to serve and meet in Atenas.

We’ll be publishing updates about our trip on the church blog, which you can find here.
